What a local move with us includes
A local move is anything within roughly 100 miles of pickup. We bill by the hour for labor and drive time, give you free wardrobe service, and supply pads, dollies, and shrink wrap. If you'd like us to handle packing too, we can quote that the same day.

How pricing works for California local moves
California requires hourly movers to charge double drive time on local moves — that is, the time from our yard to your origin (and the matching return) is billed at the same rate as the time we're at your home. It's a statewide consumer-protection rule, not an upcharge. We explain how it applies to your specific addresses so the math is clear.
Three things drive the total: crew size, total hours, and fuel surcharge. Crew size is set by the volume and weight of your inventory and whether you have any bulky items (a piano, pool table, or big-screen). Hours = labor + drive time, with a two-hour minimum. Fuel surcharge covers round-trip mileage.

What we move (and what we won't)
We move all the standard household and office items — furniture, appliances, mattresses, electronics, mirrors, artwork, gym equipment, and boxes. For bulky items like pianos and pool tables, ask when you book so we can send the right crew size.
We don't move hazardous materials (paint, propane tanks, ammunition, flammables) or perishables that won't survive the trip. Your moving guide has a full list — see the Moving Guide PDF.

Frequently asked questions
How early should I book a local move in LA?
Two to four weeks ahead is comfortable for most moves; the end of the month and weekends in summer fill up fastest. For July/August or any first-of-the-month date, aim for four to six weeks ahead.
What does "double drive time" actually mean for my bill?
California requires us to bill drive time at the same hourly rate as labor, and to double it. Practically: if it takes 45 minutes from our yard to your home, we bill 90 minutes of drive time. It's the same rule for every licensed California mover — we just make sure you see it on the quote up front.
Do you provide boxes and packing materials?
Yes. You can buy them from us, or pack yourself and we'll move loaded boxes. For wardrobe boxes specifically, we provide them on the truck at no extra charge — they go back on the truck after unloading.
Is there a minimum charge?
Two hours minimum on local hourly moves, plus the drive time and fuel surcharge. Most apartment moves run 3–5 hours total; most three-bedroom homes run 6–8 hours with a three- or four-person crew.
What about COIs for my building?
Many LA buildings — especially newer high-rises and HOA-managed condos — require a Certificate of Insurance from your mover. We provide COIs at no charge; tell us the building's requirements when you book and we'll have it to you before the move.
